Walking in the Newness of Life

The one seated on the throne said “Behold, I make all things new! (Revelation 21:5). There has been a unified theme in our church the past few years; you can hear it in the testimonies, in the word coming out of the pulpit, in the teaching of our bible studies, and in the lyrics of the songs we sing! We are bursting with new life!

In Isaiah 43:19 God says “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert!” Though there is turmoil and uncertainty in the world today, I do NOT feel despair! I feel the springing forth of life in my spirit as the Lord reminds me daily to “walk in the newness of life.”

How do we walk in the newness of life? We must first get rid of the mistaken identity of our Father. Several years ago, I was watching a video online when I heard a statement that changed the way I viewed my heavenly Father forever. They simply stated that God was in a good mood!

This statement rocked me to my core because for many years I had pictured the Father as a stern old man with his arms crossed, always angry and always waiting for me to repent so that He didn’t have to pour out His wrath on me. How sad! Now I am able to see someone much different. My Father is not angry with me, and He is in a good mood! Could this really be true?

He began to chip away at my false perception of Him and I began to ask Him to let me see Him as he truly is! It was then that the Lord began to reveal Himself to me a little at a time until I could see His true nature. My good Father; is always loving, always kind, and always in a good mood! He is totally approachable! I can come to him with anything! He is for me! He is pleased with me, simply because I’m His child!

1 Peter 1:4Whereby are given to us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature. . .” Now that we know His true nature, we can begin to partake and enjoy what Jesus died to give us – abundant life in Him. Here are just a few points to walking in the newness of life.

If we are walking in the newness of life we are free from sin. Jesus came to set the captives free, from every bondage that would hold us captive including sickness. Jesus wants us to be whole and healthy! Why would He take stripes for our healing and then want to use sickness as a tool to make us better or teach us a lesson? That would make him double-minded. It is never his will for you to be sick. Now that being said, His word tells us that he takes what the enemy means for evil and turns it into good. He is perfectly capable of taking our bad experiences and turning them around. I believe this is one reason why people think He puts sickness on us, to teach us or get our attention but the truth is He just loves to take our bad and turn it into good; it’s His heart for us! He delights in showing Mercy and I’m so glad for His true nature. Thank you, Lord!

Let us not mistake being regenerated into the life of Jesus, as just receiving a new way of thinking. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says if any man be in Christ, then he has become a new creation! Old things are passed away, forever. We have been reborn into the spirit – where we are seated with Christ in heavenly places. We must walk in the identity that Jesus died to give us. We are a whole new creation! Thank you, Jesus, for new life! Everything is new in Him.

I am so excited about the life-changing, powerful testimonies and words that have been spoken over us! We need to take hold of them and apply them to our lives.

Here are just a few of my favorites:

Pastor Tim Hart’s vision of our church being filled with young people and life. Healing services and great miracles taking place at CHOP! Our cup runneth over! Psalms 23: We are filled up to be poured out!

Brother Greg Hart – “Get your hopes up! The “zoe” life of God has been given to those who are filled with His spirit and we have abundant life! Just as the caterpillar is born with all the components it needs to change into the butterfly – when you are born again, you have what it takes to grow into the image of Christ!”

Brother Jason Osborne – “God’s will is healing! He wants you to be healed! All things are possible to him that believes! The name of Jesus is the atom bomb of the Spirit! We are expectant in hope! Whose voice are you listening to?”

Brother Josh Harold gave his awesome testimony about the River of God that flows from the throne. This river is full of life and from it, we can draw anything and everything we will ever need; healing, finances, marriage and family restoration, and deliverance!

Brother Alex Lopez reminded us that God has good plans for us. Faith is focusing on God to do a specific thing in your life. Trust is knowing who God is and knowing His heart. If you know Him, you know He is good. You know He is trustworthy.

Brother Darin Stewart – “Jesus prepared a table for you – don’t leave anything He has given you on the table. We have just as much power as they did at Pentecost. The enemy likes to lie and make us believe our power is diluted and we’re not as powerful, but that is a lie! When you lay hands on someone you should expect them to be healed!”

Brother Elmer Hart says repeatedly by the inspiration of the Holy Ghost – Behold, I make all things new! Rev. 2:15. And thank the Lord for the Prophecy of new strings on the harp! Strings that are tuned perfectly to the Spirit!

Remember, if he puts new strings on the harp He fully intends to use that harp. I can’t wait to see what He has in mind for us.

This resurrection season, let your minds be regenerated as to who Jesus is. Let us walk in the newness of life. Breaking every chain, reigning in life with Jesus, and enjoying His abundant life! Be blessed Brothers and Sisters! We are the light of the world! May we walk in the newness of life that Jesus died to give us, and may the community around us see and experience Jesus through us!

Your Sister in Christ, Annette Gabbert
