Mother’s Day

At CHOP we have always believed that our children are the church of today. Because of this, we work hard as Godly parents to raise our children according to the principles of the Bible.

We understand how precious and important our children are to the church so we embrace their excitement and their rambunctiousness. Their laughing and crying are a welcomed part of every service. They’re not a disruption, they’re simply children.

Children who are allowed to be children while they grow in church grow up to love the Lord and to love the church.

As Pastor of CHOP, I want to tell our mothers how proud I am of each and every one of you and your hard work.

I see when you are helping each other. I’m watching as you are correcting and attending to your children. I am humbled when I see you teaching them a song or a Bible verse. I watch as you hug them, hold them and sometimes even spank them.

It makes me so proud to know that our Mothers are teaching, guiding, and growing children who will always remember what growing up in a church that loves them feels like. Most importantly, what having a relationship with Jesus is truly about.

So, with Mother’s Day just around the corner, I want all our mothers at CHOP to know you’re doing a marvelous job, us dads are so proud of you and we are all praying for your strength, wisdom, patience and of course, our children. We are all cheering you on and we’re here for you.
It takes a village to raise a child and we are proud to be part of your village here at CHOP.

Happy Mother’s Day to you from all of us at CHOP.
Pastor Tim Hart

At the Foot of the Cross

We’ve probably all joked at one time or another about “so and so” living at the foot of the cross. Recently, I noticed Isaiah the Prophet really did experience what it was like at the foot of the cross some 700 years before it happened!  “Behold my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted…

July 4, 1776. A brave step of faith in a surprising journey that stunned the world. Representatives from the thirteen colonies signed their names to a document declaring their national independence from Great Britain. The colonists had only a small trained army and a meager navy, yet by signing their names they essentially declared war…
