We’ve probably all joked at one time or another about “so and so” living at the foot of the cross. Recently, I noticed Isaiah the Prophet really did experience what it was like at the foot of the cross some 700 years before it happened!
“Behold my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high.”
(Isaiah 52:13).
No wonder Isaiah is quoted so much in the New Testament, scholars say the 53rd chapter of Isaiah is quoted 85 times in the New Testament. This verse, from chapter 52, reveals the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus with emphasis on Exalted Resurrection, summarized and sub-titled the Suffering Servant of Jehovah!
“As many were astonished at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men.”
(Isaiah 52:14)
Both men and the sons of men were startled and horrified at what transpired as Jesus suffered for our redemption! An extended translation says this:
They shall see my Servant beaten and bloodied, so disfigured one would scarcely know it was a person standing there. So shall He cleanse many nations.
In this crucial time we’re facing, we too must have a marred visage, daring to change our image from ordinary and become one with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus! The groaning of creation can only be heard in the ears of those who have been shocked to their knees by the “man of sorrows” acquainted with all types of grief and successful at overcoming! Let me be one at the foot of the cross until amazing grace oozes from my very being!
“So shall he sprinkle many nations; the Kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider.”
(Isaiah 52:51).
Do you realize how Kings and Nations are being sprinkled? Not with corruptible things, but by the incorruptible blood of our Mighty Savior, Jesus!
As the whole creation groans, there is an anecdote available. It requires the blood of a spotless lamb, to make a supernatural vaccine for healing and immunization! This blood purifies and builds a wall of protection around us and is readily available.
As Isaiah said, while consumed at the foot of the cross, we will see things we’ve never seen before and hear things we’ve never heard before!
Thank God judgement begins at the house of God!
Here’s the revelation; judgement is an ability to possess discernment, in this lowly place of humility we can absolutely know what’s going on naturally and spiritually!
Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed” (Isa.53:1). The Prophet is actually letting us know, that the report for the most part is falling on deaf ears.
Here’s the revelation; simple faith is enough to have a shallow relationship with the “report”. However, God wants to reveal and uncover His strong, mighty, right arm!
Spiritually speaking, Jesus is that “right arm”! To His chosen and dedicated, he will “lay bare” and show forth the strength and power of His arm! Isaiah tells us later on, by His own arm He brought salvation and sustaining righteousness!
In closing, consider just a small portion of what’s contained in the Arm of Salvation. He was stricken, smitten, and afflicted for our forgiveness and to re-establish the relationship which Adam forfeited. He gave every believer a “measure of faith” to take us to the finish line of total deliverance! In our salvation there is healing and victory over every curse, topped off by magnificent everlasting life.
Praise His Name!!
In Christ Always,
